If you reduce your energy demand during the highest demand peaks of the year, you can then pay a reduced Global Adjustment charge based on your percentage contribution to these peaks. By participating in the program, you benefit the power system as a whole by deferring the need to build new electricity infrastructure while also helping to reduce greenhouse gases produced by generators to meet peak demand.
